Yemeni Army Launches Ballistic Missile Attack in Marib

The Yemeni army backed by the popular committees including the Houthi Ansarullah revolutionaries early on Wednesday launched a ballistic missile at Saudi-led coalition forces in Marib province.

The rocket attack killed and wounded dozes of coalition troops in the Tadaween military camp.

A military source confirmed to Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah news website that the missile accurately hit its target causing explosions all over the camp.

The latest attack comes as part of a large-scale military offensive by the Yemeni army in a bid to retake the province from Saudi-led coalition and their pro-Hadi allies.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 8,300 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
